The Lake Street Truth Collective was formed in the summer of 2021 after a year of injustice, burning and protests, economic instability and pandemic. We came together to help our neighbors feel seen and heard after this traumatic year, to engage in difficult conversations about the truth of our circumstances, and to rebuild a sense of belonging and connectedness to this land and each other.

Throughout the summer of 2021 we organized on the Robert's Lot on Chicago and Lake, providing free and accessible community dinners and events that centered community healing and joy as part of a grass-roots truth and repair process.

One year later, the need for this space is greater than ever and we will continue to hold community space in the summer of 2022.
